Swantje researched the drivers of the educational composition of immigrants as well as the role of family ties as determinants of mobility intentions. Furthermore, she looked at immigrant outcomes by studying ethnic penalties in labour market outcomes of second generation immigrants. The thesis can be found at the website of Utrecht University or downloaded here.
Swantje is currently working as a post-doctoral researcher at the Maastricht Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, as a team member for the ERC-funded research project Migrant Life Course and Legal Status Transition (MiLifeStatus).
